About

My Photo

My name’s Viktor.

I’m Ukrainian and live in Belgium.

I work as an AI engineer now, and I’m passionate about it. I love learning new things, building useful and meaningful tools, and solving complex problems. I also love explaining things to others.

I grew up near Mykolaiv—a mid-sized city by Ukrainian standards, around half a million people. My home sat between the river (almost an island) and a forest. As a child, I spent evenings and weekends in the countryside and my weekdays in the city, at a demanding school.

When the time came, I decided to study in Kyiv, at the country’s top university. I studied applied mathematics and a bit of computer science. For a while, I worked as a math educator—teacher, tutor, and manager of educational projects and teams. During COVID, I taught in a TV project for kids. It was cool; I even have this YouTube video as a memory—I play the ukulele in it. If you want to know what love and hate feel like, teaching on a kids’ TV show is a quick way to find out.

When the full-scale war started in 2022, I had to switch careers. I landed in Brussels, Belgium. I quickly studied French (up to A2) and completed training in artificial intelligence. At the same time, I pursued MIT’s MicroMasters in Statistics and Data Science. Later, I found work in Antwerp, where I’ve lived and worked ever since.

In my free time, I study Dutch and French, enjoy hiking, and watch sci-fi movies.

Welcome to my piece of the internet!
